Parallele Prozesse

Friedrich Andreoni
Parallele Prozesse, 2020
Sound Installation – Ship propellers, Analog Motors, Field recorders, Speakers
200 x 160 x 50 cm
Installation view LOBE Block, Berlin, Germany

“The plow wounds the earth, which recomposes upon its passage. In the same way, a ship cuts through calm waters. But the waters return, calm and composed again because nature is sovereign”.

Two used ship propellers are brought out of water. Their movements are juxtaposed to investigate the transformation of space between past and present, through sound. With each rotation of the propellers, space is wounded. The invisible (re)composition of space becomes perceivable through their rhythm.
